Eileen Palattella (Petersen), beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away on Nov. 16.
Eileen was born Nov. 25, 1939 and proudly lived most of her life in Port Washington, graduating from Paul D. Schreiber High School in 1957.
Eileen was a woman of many interests and talents. She was an avid reader, often spotted darting in and out of the Port Washington Public Library. She loved to travel, seeing much of the world from the balcony of a cruise ship. She loved to garden, decorate and spend time with her family. Her home was a beautiful showcase of her love, hard work and talent. Eileen especially enjoyed beautiful Port Washington sunsets from her patio, with her husband Frank.
She was married to Frank Palattella for 56 wonderful years. Eileen’s greatest joy in life was raising her four daughters: Stacy Cunningham (Jim), Kris Murphy (Bob), Dana Malvey (Jim), Paula Halligan (Bill). She loved to be surrounded by her grandchildren: Katie, Callan, Sara, James, Ryan, Frankie, Liam, Annie, and Jennifer. Eileen was loving sister to Karl (Peggy) and Ralph Petersen and life-long friend to MaryAnn McMullen. Eileen loved to embrace all that life had to offer. Her adventurous and beautiful spirit will be forever missed.
