Ken McGorry Pens Ghost Hampton

Story

StoryThe answer for local Manhasset author Ken McGorry was online marketing when he found the traditional publishing world a little standoffish and a little slow to react.
Off to a good start, McGorry hopes his novel Ghost Hampton, a mix of paranormal dread and down-to-earth humor, will grow its readership on the Internet through Amazon.
“Amazon was in the back of my mind while my Ghost Hampton queries passed slowly through the digestive system of publishing’s gatekeepers,” McGorry said. He used that time to have Ghost Hampton edited by three editors. “That’s like going to the dentist,” he said. “You gotta do it, and you’re glad when it’s over.”
McGorry went over the book several times himself during the process, cutting and rewriting. The result is a fast-moving tale with plenty of action and surprises, according to advance readers. “The protagonist, a much-resented Bridgehampton lawyer with issues, encounters a strange spirit who tells him exactly when his daughter, a police detective, will die,” McGorry said. “As he struggles to respond, all hell breaks loose and his own past comes back to haunt him.”
Ghost Hampton is available on Amazon.com as a printed book or e-book download at www.ghosthampton.com.
