In its first year, the Class of 2019 is off to a great start. Working in conjunction with the Manhasset Women’s Coalition Against Breast Cancer(MWCABC), volunteers braved a rainy Sunday to help with the MWCABC 5K Walk/Run.
Over 200 ninth-grade girls and boys attended the Pink Ball this year, raising funds to support breast cancer research, outreach and education. Some of the other wonderful things done by this organization include baking, assembling and delivering holiday cookie baskets for the outreach recipients and families.
The Class of 2019, on behalf of the entire Junior Coalition, presented a check to the Adelphi Outreach Hotline located on the campus of Adelphi University. Volunteers and staff at the hotline expressed a heartfelt appreciation to the MWCABC and the Junior Coalition for its continued support.
The girls recently benefited from a wellness seminar presented by Becky Donahue, Manhasset resident and owner of Insanely Gorgeous Health (www.insanelygorgeoushealth.com). The girls learned how nutrition, sleep and exercise play important roles in stress prevention and overall health and “the balance of mind, body and spirit working together…for optimum performance and enjoyment”.
The MWCABC Junior Coalition Class of 2019, comprised of over 80 girls, is enthusiastic, spirited and happy to be working together to support the mission of the MWCABC. All ninth-grade girls living in Manhasset are welcome to join. Questions? Contact the advisors by email at juniorcoalition2019@gmail.com.
