Volunteers are needed to help place flags on the graves of veterans at Nassau Knolls Cemetery on Port Washington Boulevard. On Sunday, May 29, from 9 to 11 a.m., volunteers can come to the cemetery and help place the flags on the nearly 300 graves of veterans.
“We have veterans here from World War I, World War II and there are even Civil War veterans here,” said Volunteer Organizer Vic Constantino.
Constantino asks that volunteers bring a screwdriver to make the hole to place the flag. The flags will be supplied.
