Port Rowing made an excellent showing at the Long Island Rowing Championships. The varsity and novice teams brought home an astonishing
15 medals that day with five golds, four silvers
and six bronze medals. Coming off the heels of
a one-week training trip in South Carolina, the team battled through exhaustion and windy/rainy conditions to place top three against some excellent rowing programs from across Long Island, New York State, Connecticut and New Jersey.
The Men’s and Women’s 1st Varsity 4’s took home the gold as well as the Men’s JV 4, and Men’s Novice 8 and 4.

Port Rowing is a club team that is open to athletes from different towns. The Men’s JV boat
in particular has students from three different
high schools—Schreiber, Great Neck and Roslyn, all pulling together to win the Gold.
