Perfect weather conditions, a big field of more than 500 finishers, the fast and flat Eisenhower Park course, great post race refreshments thanks to All Round Foods and the Blue Point Brewing Company, and the kind of camaraderie that the David Lerner Associates L.I. Police appreciation is known for, made it a great running evening.

The great turnout helped replenish the Police Crisis Fund and enables the Greater Long Island Running Club (GLIRC) to continue being there whenever asked to help local law enforcement officers and their families in time of need.

“A special thank you to our good friends at David Lerner Associates for their continuing support, to Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano and the County Parks Department, to Nassau County Legislators Rose Marie Walker, Laura Schaefer and Steve Rhoads for being there to show their support, and to all the runners who were on hand to enjoy a great run and to support our local police at the same time,” said GLIRC executive director Linda Ottaviano.
