National Night Out, an annual event that focuses on anti-crime efforts, drug-prevention and strengthening bonds between police and the community returns to Martin “Bunky” Reid Park in Westbury on Aug. 2. The event begins at 5 p.m. with a parade starting at the Salvation Army at 992 Prospect Ave. and ending at the park, where festivities will include refreshments, giveaways, performances, information about health provider services and educational resources.
“National Night Out has always been a great community event where over a thousand residents come out and interact with local businesses, organizations the police department and elected officials for fun-filled evening,” said Town of North Hempstead Councilwoman Vivianna Russell. “In light of what is going on around the country, I invite all to attend this event that demonstrates and is an example of how a community can remain united for the good of all.”
