Hicksville Trains Affected This Weekend

 

mtalirrMTA Long Island Rail Road customers traveling on the Port Jefferson, Montauk, Oyster Bay, Babylon, Ronkonkoma, Far Rockaway and West Hempstead Branches over the weekend of August 6 and August 7 should allow extra travel time as the LIRR undertakes important maintenance projects keeping both the Main Line and the Port Jefferson Branch in a state of good repair.

The most significant impacts to service will be on the Port Jefferson, Montauk and Oyster Bay Branches.

Service between Hicksville and Huntington has been reduced from half-hourly to hourly.

Some Port Jefferson branch trains are cancelled and others are running on adjusted schedules.

On Sunday, from 4 a.m.to 1 p.m., buses replace train service between Huntington and Hicksville. Eastbound customers should plan for up to 35 minutes of added travel time. Westbound customers at Huntington, Cold Spring Harbor and Syosset will board buses up to 35 minutes earlier than usual to Hicksville for train services to points west.
