The Homicide Squad reports the details of a fatal vehicular accident involving a pedestrian which occurred on Thursday, Nov. 17, at 4:45 a.m. in Massapequa Park.
According to detectives, a tow truck travelling eastbound on Sunrise Highway struck Rebecca M. Tighe, 26, of Seaford who was crossing northbound at Park Boulevard. The female victim was pronounced deceased at the scene by a Police Department medic at 4:50 a.m. The vehicle remained at scene. Brake and safety checks were performed at the scene. No apparent criminality is suspected at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
