Big Crowd Starts Off 2017 Run Smart Program

RunSmart 022417A large and enthusiastic crowd of 250 or more runners was recently on hand at the Eisenhower Park Administration Building to start the 2017 Run Start Program in a very big way.

Run Smart is a 13-week program staged by the Greater Long island Running Club under the auspices of Nassau County and its Department of Parks, Recreation and Museums aimed at getting runners ready for the Long Island Marathon, Half Marathon and 10K Run on Sunday, May 6.

“Our thanks to Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano and Parks Commissioner Brian Nugent for their continuing support for running and fitness programs like this,” said Run Smart Program Director Debbie Blair of the Greater Long island Running Club. “ We have the common goal of working towards an active, fit and healthy Nassau County.”
