The list of arrests made in connection to the murder of Julio Cesar Gonzales-Espantzay continues to grow, as the Homicide Squad announced the arrest of 23-year-old Antonio Cullal on Saturday, Oct. 7.

According to police, Gonzales-Espantzay, who had been a resident of Valley Stream, was found dead in the Massapequa Preserve on Thursday, March 23, with injuries that appeared to have come from a large cutting instrument. A series of investigations culminated in the arrests of Carlos Portillo, 22, of Hempstead, on July 29; Kevin Granados-Coreas, 19, of Rosedale, on Aug. 15; and Laura Christina Campos, 28, of Maryland, on Sept. 28. Cullal, of Hempstead, is the fourth and latest arrest made in connection with the murder.

All of the defendants are charged with second-degree murder. Cullal was arraigned on Saturday, Oct. 7, in First District Court, Hempstead.
