Mayor Strauss Wins Village Election

The residents of Mineola have spoken last night and decided to reelect Mayor Scott Strauss for a fourth term. Facing opposition for the first time, Strauss won against former mayor and trustee Larry Werther.

Also reelected were trustees George Durham and Dennis Walsh. Husband and wife duo, Cristi and Regis Gallet ran against the incumbent trustees.

Judge John O’Shea was also reelected to the village court as village justice.

The preliminary results of last night’s village election, provided by village clerk Joseph Scalero are as follows:

Mayor Scott Strauss – 1,006

Larry Werther – 511

George Durham – 951

Dennis Walsh – 992

Cristi Gallet – 536

Regis Gallet – 528

John O’Shea – 1196
