Executive Director Brooke Navarre

Nassau County’s first and only true senior life care community, The Amsterdam at Harborside, recently appointed Brooke Navarre as its executive director and Michael Tartaglia as its Tuttle Center administrator. The not-for-profit senior community offers its residents an independent lifestyle to support them in living rich lives in retirement while its Tuttle Center provides a full spectrum of on-site care, from assisted living to skilled nursing and rehabilitative services.

An experienced property management and finance professional, Navarre joined The Amsterdam in 2015 as its assistant executive director. In her career prior to The Amsterdam, she has managed luxury high-rise cooperatives on Central Park West and has overseen the day-to-day operation of a 2,900-unit cooperative corporation in Queens.

“It’s rewarding to work hard at something so worthwhile,” said Navarre. “The Amsterdam residents and employees are my family. As a team, we truly make a difference in the lives of others.”

Tartaglia is an experienced health care administrator with more than 35 years of experience. He has managed sub-acute and long-term care facilities in New York and Connecticut and has an extensive background in systems implementation and community relations.

“The Amsterdam at Harborside offers an important service in Nassau County,” said Tartaglia. “I’m honored to join an organization with such a strong reputation for providing quality care, certainty and peace of mind to seniors.”

“Both Brooke and Michael are experienced leaders and team builders,” said Amsterdam Continuing Care Health System President and CEO James Davis. “Over the past two years, Brooke has proven her ability to work with both our staff and residents to build an even stronger sense of community here. Michael has demonstrated an exceptional ability to implement new approaches to improve both clinical and financial outcomes in the organizations in which he has worked. We are fortunate to have them as part of our team.”
