Few playwrights have explored family relationships and middle-class angst as deeply as Edward Albee in his masterpiece A Delicate Balance. Theatre Box is proud to present this rarely performed drama for six performances between Friday, July 27 and Sunday, Aug. 5.
The play centers on Agnes and Tobias, whose marriage is unraveling, as well as their daughter, Julia, Agnes’ alcoholic sister, and lifelong family friends Harry and Edna. As the situation intensifies, emotions are laid raw in this riveting drama that won the Pulitizer Prize for drama in 1967 and a Tony nomination for best play.
The talented cast includes Deborah Rupy, Patrick A. Reilly, Elizabeth Zimmerman, Angela Pokorny, Karen Schlachter and Joe Pepe as Harry.
Show times are 8 p.m. on Fridays, July 27 and Aug. 3, and Saturdays, July 28 and Aug. 4, and 2 p.m. on Sundays, July 29 and Aug. 5. Tickets are $17 for adults, $12 for ages 65 and older and $7 for ages 18 and younger.
