A Girl’s Guide to Careers, a website, is the Gold Award Project of Manhasset resident Justine Cuomo.

The Gold Award is the highest achievement within the Girls Scouts, and each project is aimed at making the world a better place. To accomplish this goal, Cuomo decided to create A Girl’s Guide to Careers, a website and educational tool for middle school girls. A Girl’s Guide to Careers addresses the lack of exposure many of these girls have to varied career choices in the world today.

The interactive website showcases virtual interviews with diverse women in different professions, as well as information pertaining to each career. The careers covered include spacecraft engineering, sports management, legal, nursing, education and marketing.
Cuomo has been presenting her project in person via Zoom and by pre-recorded videos. She has presented in schools, to after school programs and to Girl Scout troops. She would like to reach as many girls as possible, and is looking for other appropriate presentation opportunities.
