Slated November 27 on Plandome Road
The holiday season is rapidly approaching, and the Manhasset Chamber of Commerce and Shop Manhasset are working on many ways to help our small businesses to encourage the community to “Shop Local, Spend Local, Eat Local and Enjoy Local.”
This year, the Manhasset Chamber of Commerce will be hosting “A Merry Little Manhasset” to be held on Small Business Saturday, Nov. 27. The Chamber will bring festivities to Plandome Road to encourage the community to support small local businesses. Kick-off will begin at 11 a.m. at 346 Plandome Rd., a Santa-land for the day. The Munsey Park and Shelter Rock Elementary Chamber Choirs will perform a winter concert before Santa and Mrs. Claus arrive.
Some other festivities include: Candy Cane and Hot Cocoa Bomb giveaways, free movie screenings at 1:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. at Manhasset Cinemas, performances by Moves and Motions School of Dance at 3 p.m. and the Middle School Chamber Singers at 4 p.m. See full event time schedule below.
Manhasset Chamber will host a toy drive for Adventures in Learning at Santa-land for Nov, 27 only. Bring a new unwrapped toy and help a local child, ages 1-18.
The Holiday Scavenger Hunt begins Nov. 27 until Dec 31. Visit the chamber Santa-Land on Small Business Saturday to get a Scavenger Hunt Card. How many ways can you support a small business this Holiday season? Upload a photo and #merrymanhasset #shopmanhasset on social media.

Thanks to Manhasset Beautification, Plandome Road now has Holiday Lights on the beautifully decorated light posts and planters. To add more holiday cheer throughout the town, the Chamber will also be hosting a “Holiday Window Display Contest.” Voting will begin Dec. 3, same day as Christmas Tree Lighting, where the Chamber will announce the winner of the “Our Community One Family” poster contest winners.
While enjoying the festivities, make sure to stroll around town and do some local shopping and grab a bite to eat. Manhasset Chamber of Commerce encourages all to come our and support our small local businesses.
“A Merry Little Manhasset” Event Schedule
11 a.m.; Chamber Santa-land opens at 346 Plandome Rd. Walk through the North Pole and see all the festive holiday decorations. Accepting Toy Donations for Adventures in Learning, new-unwrapped toys for local kids ages 1-18. Note: Santa-land will be open all day for walk through.
11 a.m.: Munsey Park and Shelter Rock Elementary Chamber Choir performance at Chamber Santa-land.
11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.: Take photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus, taken by professional local photographer Mack S. Bradley. Get a home made cookie baked by local Manhasset Girl Scout Troops (while supplies last). Get your Hot Cocoa Bombs & Candy Cane Giveaways, Scavenger Hunt Passports and more.
1:30 p.m.: Free holiday movie screening of Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch at Manhasset Cinemas. No advanced tickets, first come first serve. Concessions not included.
1 to 3 p.m.: Manhasset Living Magazine: Get your family photos taken at Chamber Santa-land.
1:30-3 to 3:30 p.m.: Cookies with Santa Claus at Daniel Gale Sotheby’s International, 364 Plandome Rd. Visit with Santa, cookies and cocoa, giveaways and some surprises.
3 p.m.: Gingerbread House decorating competition at Hierarchy Architect & Design, 7 Gaynor Ave. Advanced sign-up required, limited space. Contact TJ Costello to enter at 516-627-7007.
3 p.m.: Holiday performance by Moves & Motions School of Dance at Mary Jane Davies Green.
4 p.m.: Manhasset Middle School Chamber Singers performance at Manhasset Cinemas.
5 to 7 p.m.: Photos with Santa at Santa-land.
5 p.m.: Free movie screening at Manhasset Cinemas featuring E.L.F. No advanced tickets, first come first serve. Concessions not included.
