Glen Cove Downtown BID Holds Annual Meeting

The Glen Cove Downtown BID held its first annual meeting with its new executive director Jill Nossa. The meeting introduced new board members, reviewed successful events, and honored three businesses celebrating milestone anniversaries.
The BID board inducted two new members, property owner Anthony Perfetti (Glen Street Laundromat) and Residential Representative Christopher Strother.
In 2023 the BID had successful events and clear weather, holding their annual Downtown Sounds, Halloween Parade and Holiday Festival; as well as new events such as a murder mystery and assisting the Hispanic Chamber in throwing a celebration for Hispanic Heritage Month.
During the meeting, the BID and elected officials honored Fred Guarino of Tiki Recording Studios for 45 years, La Famiglia and owners Paul and Anna Ferri for 30 years and Joe Valensisi of Henry’s Confectionary for 95 years of service.

The BID will continue to provide services to the community and downtown businesses. Nossa discussed plans for 2024 including new events, revamped social media and outreach. New businesses are on their way downtown and solar trash and recycling receptacles were installed downtown.
“We want everyone within the BID to know that we are here for them to help market and promote their business and services, or to help find a solution for any issues,” Nossa said. “We are all invested in the downtown businesses and want our streets to be clean, the properties to be well-kept and to have a thriving, vibrant downtown.”
