Town of Oyster Bay Supervisor Joseph Saladino announced that all town pools will open a day early this season on Friday, June 21, with free admission for all town residents in response to predicted high temperatures through New York this week. Additionally, extended hours are being offered throughout the summer at the various pools on a rotating schedule.
“The warm, sunny days of summer are upon us and all residents are welcome to join us for free Friday swim on June 21st at pools open for the season,” said Supervisor Saladino in his announcement.
This early opening and free admission apply to all five Town of Oyster Bay pool facilities, including Bethpage Community Park, Marjorie R. Post Community Park, Plainview-Old Bethpage Community Park and Syosset-Woodbury Community Park, as well as a saltwater pool at Tappen Beach.
All Town of Oyster Bay pools will be open from Friday, June 21, through Monday, September 2, from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. each day. Hours will be expanded to 8 p.m. closing at each location on a rotating schedule. Extended hours will be offered at the Syosset-Woodbury pool on Mondays, the Plainview-Old Bethpage pool on Tuesdays, the Bethpage pool on Wednesdays, the Marjorie R. Post pool on Thursdays, and all pools, including Tappen Beach, on Fridays.
Memberships are open to all district residents and can be purchased at each pool location. Daily admission rates, group access and nanny memberships can also be obtained at each location. Residents ages five and up can also apply for swimming lessons at each pool location.
Additionally, Town of Oyster Bay swim team practice will begin July 1. The team is open to Oyster Bay residents ages six to 16. Practices will be held on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m., with class meets on Tuesday afternoon. Swim meets will be held on Saturday mornings.
