To uninsured women over the age of 40 provided by the Cancer Screening Partnership at Nassau University Medical Center. Free take-home test for colorectal cancer for women 50 and over and their partners will be distributed. Lazy Days of Summer Picnic

This year’s diverse program offers the musical variety of the Big Band Sound, Classics and Rock, Steel Drum/Caribbean, and the ever- popular Country. Through the generous sponsorship of Canon U.S.A., these concerts are presented to the community free of charge by the NC Department of Parks, Recreation and Museums. Local Marines/Families Golf Outing
The 2nd Battalion, 25th Marines Association will host its third Annual Golf Outing at Eisenhower Park on Aug. 3 to raise funds for the support of local Marine Reservists and their families. Play will take place on the Red and White Courses with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. Check in begins at 10 a.m., followed by a barbeque lunch. Play will be followed by a buffet dinner at the Carltun. Proceeds will help the nonprofit organization provide comfort and support to family members of deployed Marines; care packages for those on the frontlines of the War on Terror; and if need be, funds will be used to assist wounded Marines or provide for the survivors of any killed in the line of duty. Vacation Bible School

Call For Craft Vendors
Mill Neck Manor is calling for vendors of handmade items for its Annual Fall Harvest Festival, held on Oct. 10 and 11, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. A favorite tradition on LI, visitors eagerly await the festival for its crafts, apples, pumpkins, pies and other delicious treats. Country crafts, offering handmade items and holiday gifts, are one of the festival’s main features. If you make or sell crafts and feel that you would be a great addition to the Festival, you are encouraged to apply. Vendors are assigned an outdoor space (10’x10’) with a table and two chairs. All vendors are required to have a tent or canopy; those vendors who do not own a suitable tent may rent one from Mill Neck Manor for a small fee. •Pet Loss Support Group. People who feel very sad about the loss or serious illness of their cat or dog can now come to a bi-weekly support group led by an experienced counselor in the conference room at Bide-A-Wee, 3300 Beltagh Ave., Wantagh. These sessions are open to the public; they are not restricted to Bide-A-Wee clients or adopters. The group facilitator is Medea Berkman, a pet loss group leader with many years of experience. She gently guides the healing process to help people come to terms with their feelings of sadness and loss. No fee, but all donations are gratefully accepted to help Bide-A-Wee provide for the animals in our care until we place them in loving homes.
