Levittown Kiwanis Wing Eating Contest Fundraiser Sends Another Kid to Kamp

The Levittown Kiwanis Club recently sponsored a chicken wing-eating contest held at the Ground Round on Hempstead Turnpike in Levittown. The $525 raised at the event will send another child to Kamp Kiwanis.

After referee Legislator Dennis Dunne announced, “step away from the bones,” the winners were decreed. Clayton Goroway, Nick Cantor and Fred Koromi nabbed first, second and third place, respectively. Legislator Dunne, a Levittowner himself, presented Island Trees Library Director and Kiwanian Frank McKenna with the Senior Citizen’s Award, as he was the sole competitor over age 50.

Event organizer and Kiwanian Ann Torcivia said, “The event was a blast.”

“Everyone had such a fun time and we were laughing all day,” she added. “And we made our [fundraising] goal.”

Torcivia is still accepting donations at 822-5966.
