Matt Hynes of Levittown has recently announced his candidacy for Town of Hempstead Council District 6. Running on the Democratic/Working Families party lines, Hynes calls himself “a proud Long Islander who is committed to serving his community.”
“I am fed up with our current local leadership and ready to end its monopoly,” he added. “I am campaigning for sustainable growth, affordability, and a higher quality of life. It is my belief that we, as Long Islanders, need leaders throughout government that will stand up for our communities, and fight with the people, not against them. I am asking that this November you vote for local leaders like me, who will fight for you.”
A former intern for a legislative session in Albany, Hynes also interned as a legislative aide in the NYS Senate.
Candidate Hynes is a member of the Mid Nassau Democratic Club, the Knights of Columbus, the Ancient Order of Hibernians, the Sons of the American Legion, the National American Legion Press Association and The Long Island Road Runners.
The 6th Councilmatic District includes Levittown, East Meadow, Salisbury, Plainedge, and parts of North Bellmore, North Merrick, Bethpage, Wantagh and Seaford.
