CROP Hunger Walk

Walk to Remember
In recognition of National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness month, which aims to increase the community’s understanding of the grief associated with the loss of an unborn or newborn child, Winthrop-University Hospital’s Perinatal Bereavement Team will host the Sixth Annual Walk to Remember at 9 a.m. at Field 5 of Eisenhower Park, East Meadow. This event enables parents, relatives and friends who have lost a child due to pregnancy complications, stillbirth, early infant loss or fetal abnormalities to walk in remembrance of their loved one. The day includes a light breakfast, a candlelight memorial service and the opportunity for parents to create a personal memory page for inclusion in Winthrop’s Memory Scrapbook. A donation of $15 per person is requested; children under 12 years of age may participate for free. The funds raised will support the work of Winthrop’s Perinatal Bereavement Team. Our Heroes Night Out Fundraiser for Homeless Vets

Pet Blessing

Hicksville UMC Off-Broadway Holding Auditions

Black and White Conversion
The Photoshop manual states that there are over a dozen ways to convert a digital image to black and white and each monthly magazine seems to have an article about a new (and usually more complicated) way. This show tries to simplify black and white conversion by way of a slide show presentation followed by a live Photoshop demonstration. Bike Club Screening
Lifelong Levittowner and 2002 DAHS graduate Matt McGregor is the director/co-writer/co-producer of the movie, Bike Club. The movie is a 20-minute comedic short about a group of misfit bike enthusiasts who aspire to march in their town’s Memorial Day Parade and was shot entirely in Levittown.
