The MacArthur Girls Varsity Tennis Team, coached by Tara Preston, clinched the Conference 4A Championship on Wednesday, Oct. 21 by defeating Clarke 5-2. Their playoff performance was the culmination of a competitive season, with the ladies maintaining their undefeated record of 12-0.
The last time the team secured the conference championship was in 1984, 25 years ago, making their victory even more special.
The success of this team can be attributed to the dedication and athletic performance of the following players: At singles, Cameron Moskol, and Nicole and Nina Jusczcak; at doubles, Clarissa Shenocker, Emmy Yam, Sabrina Libretti, Stephanie Malin, Lauren Rosenfeld, Mia Katz, Gul Berktas, Melissa Slyper, Katie Parra, Swathi Marda, Rita Sobhy, Melissa Schachter, Cassandra Denning, Justine Kim, Melanie Callaghan, and Rebecca Shuchman.
