Joan Marcella (Cuffe) Manney, 74, of Ft. Pierce, FL, died Nov. 30, 2009 of cancer. She was born in Queens on Aug. 5, 1935 and raised her family in Levittown. She was married 54 years to Frederick Manney Jr. Joan was active in the Spanish Lakes Fairways (SLF)/Ft. Pierce community, volunteering with the LI Ducklings; Relay for Life; Angel Food Ministry; SLF Welcoming Committee; and the VA Hospital. She served as a coordinator for the SLF U.S. Service Member Care Package team; battered women and children shelter donation team; and elementary school holiday gift drive. She was a member of the local Moose Lodge.
Joan is survived by three children (Frederick III, Glenn and Maureen); four sisters (Antoinette Robison, Annette Mannell, Carole Quigley, Grace Lauro); four grandchildren (Frederick IV, Jillian, Kerriann and Katya); a foster son (Frank Zupky); and numerous nieces and nephews. She joins sister Barbara Quigley and granddaughter Jennifer in Heaven.
Funeral arrangements were held Dec. 3 at St. Helen’s Catholic Church in Vero Beach.
