Wisdom Lane would like to congratulate seventh-grade student Taylor Traenkle for being selected to play for the 12-year-old Junior Islander Hockey Team.
Taylor’s team played in a ten-day, three-city tournament in China where the team went 4-1. The team won the Charles B. Wang Project Hope Invitational Tournament. Taylor had nine goals and five assists in the five games.
His coach, former Islander Benoit Hogue, chose him to accept the championship trophy on behalf of his team.
In February, Taylor and his team will travel to Quebec, Canada to play in the Pee Wee Hockey World Championships, which is comprised of teams from all over the world. On Feb. 9, the Junior Islander team will be playing against team Switzerland before the New York Islander game. If you would like to follow the team’s progress, go to newyorkislanders.com.
