Autumn Yard Sale

Donor Rose Garden
Long Island Transplant Recipients International Organization is an all volunteer support group committed to improving the quality of lives touched by the miracle of transplantation through support, advocacy, education and awareness. The public is invited to a very special re-dedication of the Donor Rose Garden. The annual ceremony honoring donors and donor families is one of Long Island TRIO’s most cherished events. ALS Walk
The ALS Association Greater NY Chapter will host the 10th Annual Walk to Defeat ALS fundraiser at Eisenhower Park, Merrick and Stewart Aves., East Meadow. Fox 5 News reporter Linda Schmidt will serve as Grand Marshal with Q104.3 DJ Ken Dashow serving as the Emcee. The walk is wheelchair and stroller accessible. Before and after the walk, there will be family friendly activities such as guest stars, autograph signing by sports celebrities, face painting, live music, mascots refreshments and other fun and games. New York Fun Run Walk
Held by the LI Support Group for Pulmonary Hypertension. The walk will benefit research to cure Pulmonary Hypertension. Walk to Remember
Winthrop-University Hospital’s Perinatal Bereavement Team will host a Walk to Remember at 9 a.m. at Field 5 of Eisenhower Park. East Meadow. This event enables parents, relatives and friends who have lost a child due to pregnancy complications, stillbirth, early infant loss or fetal abnormalities to walk in remembrance of their loved one. In addition to the walk, the day includes a light breakfast, a candlelight memorial service and an opportunity for parents to share their memories with others as well as create a personal memory page for inclusion in Winthrop’s Memory Scrapbook. A donation of $15 per person is requested; children under 12 years of age free. The funds raised will support the work of Winthrop’s Perinatal Bereavement Team. Food Allergy/Anaphylaxis Network’s Walk
Held to raise funds that are vitally needed to support FAAN’s mission. Hundreds of participants are expected to do the three-mile walk with family teams, school teams, company teams, or as individuals. The Pumpkin Patch is Back
Good Shepherd Lutheran Church at 3434 Hempstead Tpke., is holding its Eighth Annual Pumpkin Patch. The patch will be open daily from Oct. 9 through Oct. 31. Many families will come by to find their own “Great Pumpkin,” take some pictures and have some fun. This year the church has the addition of a corn maze, flowers and apples. There will be thousands of pumpkins waiting to be picked. So come on by, Sunday through Friday from noon to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and see if you can find the best pumpkin in the patch. Free admission to the patch.

Exhibit of Early Levittown Memorabilia
In celebration of 50 years of Levittown, the Levittown Historical Society presents the exhibit “Levittown, the American Dream 1947-1957.” Filled with early Levittown memorabilia, it is a “walk down Memory Lane.” Includes: WWII Levitt House, appliances, photographs, furniture, wedding gifts, toys and memories. Senior Puppet Theater

Midshore Mother’s Center
