Rosebud Rebels Take First Place at Indoor Soccer Tournament

The Levittown U-8 girls soccer team of the Nassau South Shore Soccer Club dominated at the Adam Novellanno Annual Indoor Soccer Tournament on Sunday, Jan. 30. The Rosebud Rebels came in first place thanks to their explosive offense lead by team Captain Kira Olivos.

Julia Osterman contributed her usual untiring efforts assisting on most of Olivos’ nine goals. Olivos deservedly took home Most Valuable Player honors in the U-8 girls group.

Co-captain Gabriella Chianese, with the help of the team’s youngest player Emily Gaska, denied most advances into Levittown’s end of the field.

Levittown’s first year goalie, Jacqueline Testamark, made a great combination of saves in their last game to shut out their opposition for the third straight game.

The team organizers touted the girls’ efforts in teamwork as the reason for their rousing success. Their inaugural year is off to an awesome start. For more information on these girls and their accomplishments check them out on Facebook at Nassau South Shore Soccer Club.
