The 2011-2012 basketball season will soon be starting and registrations are now being accepted. Registration forms can be found on our website at www.stignatiuscyo.org or contact coachcarroll@verizon.net.
The CYO will be offering three programs this year.
-Girls Travel Basketball (grades four through eight): The CYO is looking to resurrect the girls travel program this year and hopes to participate in the CYO of Nassau & Suffolk basketball league, with home games being played at Monsignor Tarrant Gym. The season begins Oct. 14, and registrations are due in by Sept. 7. CYO is looking for girls’ coaches at all levels.
-Boys Travel Basketball (grades three through eight): The boys program continues to grow with teams expected at the third- through seventh-grade levels. CYO would also like to field an eighth-grade team. The boys’ teams will continue to participate in the CYO of Nassau & Suffolk basketball league, with home games being played at Monsignor Tarrant Gym. The season begins Nov. 18 and registrations are due in by Sept. 30.
-Boys & Girls Co-Ed Instructional Intramural Basketball: This is an instructional league for students in pre-k through second-grade. Players will work together with their coaches to hone their basketball skills and learn to enjoy the game of basketball. The 10-week season generally begins the last week of November. Registrations are due by Nov. 11 so the CYO can order uniforms and equipment.
