On Friday, Feb. 10 the Division Avenue Lady Dragons ended their regular season schedule with a commanding 64-48 win over Hewlett. The victory was the third in a row by the Blue Dragons and helped push them into the Nassau County Class “A” Playoffs. This is the eighth year in a row and the 17th out of the last 19 years that the Dragons have qualified for the playoffs.
Leading the way down the stretch was a hard-working group of upperclassmen. Juniors Tiffany Rodriguez, Gina Fader, and Julie Weidler all made valuable contributions this season. Fader is a defensive specialist who led the team in taking charges. She set an unofficial team record with 14. Weidler had the difficult task of covering the opposition’s best player in most of this season’s contests and was fantastic!
