Nationals This Weekend
University of Connecticut junior diver Danielle Cecco of Hicksville won the NCAA Zone Diving championship in the three-meter event on Saturday, March 10. Cecco, who finished third in the one-meter the day before, earned a spot in both events at the NCAA National Championship, which is being held this weekend in Auburn, Ala.
Cecco’s NCAA Zone title in the three-meters was her second consecutive win and she earned a spot in both NCAA national events last year. Cecco scored a 643.05 in the three-meter on Saturday with a 319.30 in the preliminaries and a 323.75 in the finals. On Friday, March 9 in the one-meter, she scored a 565.15.
