Fundraiser for Bethany House, which provides help for homeless women and children on LI
Bethany House of Nassau County will be holding its 16th Annual Golf and Tennis Outing on Monday, July 23, at the Tam O’Shanter Golf Club in Brookville. The day will include a full roster of activities: golf and tennis tournaments, brunch, pool, outdoor lunch, cocktail party and sumptuous buffet dinner.
Bethany House is dedicated to improving the lives of homeless women and children here on Long Island. Their five residences provide safe, supportive emergency housing and a comprehensive range of additional programs and resources to support families and return them to self-sufficiency. Of those families who have remained at Bethany House for more than two weeks, 94 percent have successfully found permanent housing. Bethany’s five homes service up to 85 persons nightly.
Live and silent auctions will certainly appeal to golfers as participants can vie for golf threesomes or foursomes to such coveted and famous golf courses such as: Trump International, Liberty National Golf Course, Metedeconk National Golf Club, PGA National Resort & Spa, Westhampton Country Club, and the Medalist. A drawing to win a luxury vacation for four to Tuscany, Italy will also take place. Only 250 tickets at $200 will be sold for the chance to win a 6-night stay at a 5-star farmhouse in Tuscany, complete with round trip business class airfare for four, car rental, and six bottles of wine. You do not have to be present to win.
This year’s outing honors Steve DiMare of Unified Window Systems, Inc., located in Hempstead, for his many years of support and personal generosity to Bethany House. Di Mare believes that what makes Bethany House so special are the wonderful caring people who work so hard and give so much of themselves to help others. He says that it is “so completely gratifying to be involved with such a special cause.”
Prices start at $150 for cocktails and dinner only, $400 for golf and $250 for tennis. Sponsorships are also available.
