For the fifth consecutive year, the Division Avenue High School Science Olympiad team had earned the opportunity to compete in the New York State Finals held on March 8-9 in Monroe, NY and has won the coveted Spirit Award. The Spirit Award is earned by only one school each year and is voted on by all of the event supervisors at the competition.
Science Olympiad team adviser Gerard Marzigliano, teachers Sarah LaBonte, Jeff Miller and Meghan Olsen, and science curriculum associate Kevin McDermott all cheered the members to victory.
The Science Olympiad team earned medals in 10 of 22 events, which included the following:
