A resident of East Meadow, Randi Shubin Dresner, president and CEO of Island Harvest, Long Island’s largest hunger relief agency has been named by Governor Andrew Cuomo as one of the newest members of the Farmingdale State College Council. Under her leadership, Island Harvest has consistently been rated a 4-Star charity by the nation’s largest charity watchdog, Charity Navigator, an honor held by only seven percent of those they monitor nationally.
Dresner is a Certified Fundraising Executive with more than 30 years experience in the not-for profit sector. She is active with numerous community organizations and has been honored by several, including the Association of Fundraising Professionals (LI Chapter), Promote Long Island, and the Long Island Federation of Labor, AFL-CIO. She has also been recognized by Long Island Business News as among the region’s “Top 50 Most Influential Women in Business.” Her term will expire in June 2017.
The council serves in an advisory capacity to Farmingdale State College. Each member brings his or her particular expertise to the college as well as advocacy on particular issues of importance to the college. Members of the College Council meet with the college administration regularly to review college operations as well as new initiatives.
