Port Artist On Exhibit

artPort resident Martha Ferguson paints abstract landscapes that examine the environment in a state of flux. Ferguson’s exhibition, “Current Waters Run Deep” will be on display at the library through Feb. 27.

The exhibit features mixed media pieces inspired by the coastal waters of New England.

Ferguson has received painting awards from the East End Arts Council and the Guild Hall Museum. She was selected to represent American art educators in Tokyo and Okinawa as part of the Japanese Fulbright Memorial Fund Fellowship program.

While there, she was the guest of renowned Japanese printmaker Takuji Kubo and initiated an international printmaking project, “Peace Flags Across the Seas.”
