On Feb. 8 the Division Avenue High School Girls Varsity Basketball team secured the conference A2 title with a 55-47 win over the second place team, Sewanhaka High School. Sophomore Jessica Fressle led all scorers with a career high 27 points. Fressle also recorded her tenth double-double of the season. Senior captain Kristin Aquila added 15 points on a 5-for-5 shooting performance from behind the three point arc.
The following Monday, Feb. 10, the girls finished their season with a victory over Manhasset High School 55-48 at their annual Senior Game. This win enabled the Blue Dragons to go undefeated in their conference for the second year in a row.
Seniors Taylor Calabrese, Kristin Aquila, Laura Stewart, and Brianna DeMilia were honored before the game. Laura and Kristen combined for 33 points, 18 rebounds, 6 steals and 6 assists.
The girls were seeded fourth in the Nassau County Class A Playoffs.
