Take aim at a model airplane as it cruises above you ands let your paint balls fly.
Dozens of handmade planes will be taking to the sky, with the sole goal of serving as targets for the folks below.
It’s all part of the Paint Ball R/C airplane shootout that Port’s Hempstead Harbor Aero Modelers Society (HHAMS) is hosting on Sunday, May 18, (rain date June 1st) at 11 a.m. The event is open to everyone.
Anyone who wants can command a paint ball gun and try to shoot down a flying model. There will be a modest charge for participants, but all equipment would be supplied. This annual event takes place at the North Hempstead Aerodrome on West Shore Road, about half a mile north of Harbor Links golf course.
Hamburgers, hotdogs and beverages will be available for a nominal charge.
All proceeds go to support HHAMS, to maintain the aerodrome for future generations to enjoy aero modeling. For more information call Armond Saidai at 944-3858 or visit www.hamms.org.
