Division Avenue Art Show

On May 21, Division Avenue High School will hold its 14th annual student art show, from 5-8 p.m.

 

Chamber of Commerce

The next general meeting of the Levittown Chamber of Commerce will be held on May 21, from 6-8 p.m. at Domenico’s Restaurant, located at 3270 Hempstead Tpke. There will also be a presentation of scholarship awards. 

Thursday, May 22

PTA Council

The next meeting of the Levittown Public School District PTA Council will be held at 7:30 p.m. on May 22, at the Levittown Memorial Education Center at 150 Abbey Lane in Levittown. 

 

Narcan Training 

With the abuse of opioids such as oxycodone, hydrocodone and heroin growing at alarming rates, too many people are dying from it. On May 22, learn what to do in case of an overdose and how to administer the life-saving overdose reversal agent called Naloxone.
The event starts at 7 p.m. inside the YES Community Counseling Center, at 152 Center Lane in Levittown. 

 

Memorial Day Weekend Festival 

From May 22-May 26, the Levittown Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual Memorial Weekend Festival behind the Tri-County Flea Market on Hempstead Tpke. in Levittown. 

There will be food, rides, games and fun for the whole family. 

 

The festival will be open Thursday and Friday from 5-11 p.m. Saturday and Sunday from 12-11 p.m., and Mondays from 12-9 p.m. Parking and admission are free to the public.

Family Sports Night

On May 23, St. Bernard’s Catholic Church at 3100 Hempstead Tpke. in Levittown invites parents and children (ages 2-12) to participate in family sports night. From 7-9 p.m. shoot hoops, toss bean bags or compete in a race. For more information visit www.stbernardslevittown.org.

Memorial Day Soccer Fest

On May 24, the Island Trees Soceer Club will host its 33rd annual Memorial Day festival. Open to boys and girls intramural teams only, the event features a total of five games that will be played throughout the day. No standings will be kept and no guest players are permitted. Every player who competes in the soccer club’s Memorial Day festival will receive a trophy. 

 

Flagging Veterans Graves

On May 24, the American Legion Post 1711 of Levittown will begin its memorial day service at the Long Island National Cemetery at 7 a.m., where they will honor those who served our country.

Memorial Day Services

On Sunday, American Legion Post 1711 of Levittown will continue its Memorial Day remembrance with a service at 2 p.m. at the Long Island National Cemetery.

MEMORIAL DAY

Government and other public offices will be closed. 

Tuesday, May 27

Levittown Community Council 

The next meeting of the Levittown Community Council will be held on May 27 at 7:30 p.m. at the Levittown Library. 

During the meeting, the community council will award one winner from each of Levittown’s three middle schools—Salk, McArthur, and Island Trees—for their outstanding volunteerism. For more information contact Pat Patane at 516-579-2831.

On May 28, MacArthur High School will hold its annual student art show, from 5-7 p.m. at the high school.

Friday, May 30

Quantum Magick

On May 30, stop by Levittown Hall at 201 Levittown Parkway in Hicksville, at 8 p.m. when the Eyes of Learning—a non-profit metaphysical learning and teaching group—will have guest speaker Bill Truglio aka Llium S. Hernson, professional psychic and tarot/rune reader to discuss the crossroads where science and mysticism meet. Admission is $15 for non-members and no preregistration is required.

De-Flagging Graves

The American Legion Post 1711 of Levittown is requesting assistance from the public on May 31, with removing flags at the Long Island National Cemetery at 2040 Wellwood Ave.in Farmingdale. Gates open at 7 a.m. 

13th Men Who Cook Fundraiser

On May 31, the Kiwanis club of Wantagh will be holding its annual men who cook fundraiser dinner at 7 p.m. at Temple B’nai Torah, at 2900 Jerusalem Ave. This year’s dinner will be accompanied by Vegas-style gaming, complete with craps, blackjack, roulette and poker. Cost is $30 per person to attend.
