Organizers with the Long Island Fight for Charity recently held a special “Final Call for Boxers and Boxer Announcement” reception, welcoming nearly 200 boxers, sponsors, supporters, committee members, volunteers, families and fans as well as business, nonprofit and other community leaders, who were anxious to hear the names of this year’s fighters.
During the reception, this year’s competitors were introduced for the first time. The list included Stefan “Lights Out” Borovina and Mell “The Kid” Goldman of Levittown.
The 11th Long Island Fight for Charity scheduled for Monday, November 24 is expected to attract more than 1,200 people and raise more than $200,000 for local charitable organizations. To date $850,000 has been donated to Long Island charities. The Final Call reception was the last call for men and women to get involved in this unique marketing experience that benefits the Long Island Community Chest,
The Genesis School and the National Foundation for Human Potential, and other not-for-profits.
