Levittown Team Wins 13th County Championship

Levittown’s Division Avenue High School varsity baseball team, under the direction of coach Tom Tuttle, won the Class A County Championship, garnering a third-place ranking in New York State. This is the team’s 13th county championship win and the second county championship for the school in the past four years.

 

In addition, senior Chris Reilly was named Championship MVP for throwing a complete game shutout in game two and going three for four with two RBIs. 

 

At the All-County Dinner, the team received its trophy, and seven players received postseason awards. Mark Martinez received the Don Lang Diamond Award for Position Player, going to the county’s best overall player. Mark was also named League A II MVP and received the designation of Newsday’s All-Long Island and All-State.

 

Joe Spitaleri was also named All-Long Island and All-State, while Chris was designated as All-County. Anthony Papa was a finalist for the Doug Robins Diamond Award for Pitcher and was named All-State and All-County. James Varela and Tyler Epple were designated All-Conference, while Mike Ambrosio was named All-League.

 

Principal Joan Lorelli congratulated the players and coaching staff for an outstanding season.
