Another Driver Hits And Runs

Another hit-and-run in Levittown has landed an 80-year-old woman in the hospital, according to Nassau County Police.

Detectives with the second precinct say the victim was taking out the trash at approximately 7:15 a.m. when she was struck by a silver car headed westbound on Stirrup Lane. The victim suffered bruises and injuries to her shoulder and hip and was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

So far this year, there have been three reported incidents of a hit-and-run in Levittown.

News of the most recent hit-and-run comes less than one month after a similar incident last June, when 13-year-old Brianna Soplin was killed by a hit-and-run driver.

In February, a 14-year-old student from Levittown suffered multiple injuries after being struck by a vehicle at the corner of Hempstead Turnpike and Shelter Lane.

According to police, the vehicle in the latest incident was last seen driving westbound on Stirrup Lane.
