Feast of the Assumption
Enjoy homemade Italian food, entertainment, music games and more at the annual Feast of the Assumption. The fair opens nightly at 6 p.m. at the St. Brigid’s Church parking lot on Maple Ave. The schedule includes a Friday evening mass at St. Brigid’s church, which will be followed by the procession to the feast grounds. There will be a screening of The Rookie starring Dennis Quaid, in Martin Bunky Reid Park in Westbury. Rated G. This screening is part of the North Hempstead Summer Film Series. 8 p.m.
Open Mic
Show off your talents or enjoy ice cream as you watch others take the stage during an open mic night at the Hollow Creamery, 538 Westbury Ave. in Carle Place. Starts at 8 p.m.

Children’s Storytime

Yoga at Old Westbury Gardens
Professional Kripalu Yoga instructor, Lorili Henry, will lead students through a dynamic, yet gentle, continuous flow of postures and conscious breathing. Participants must bring a yoga mat, yoga strap and towel. $15 per session; $5.00 members (weather permitting, includes Gardens admission). 11:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Cool as a Cucumber
Kids and families are invited to a drop-in station at Old Westbury Gardens to learn how nature keeps its cool in the steamy summertime. Enjoy a refreshing treat while you learn some tips and tricks to chill out during the August heat. 12 to 1 p.m.

Mindless Behavior
Come party with Mindless Behavior at the first ever Back To School Day Party for teenagers in Long Island at The Space at Westbury. Doors open at noon and the party starts at 1 p.m. A special meet and greet with the group is available the day of the party. Tickets are $35 to $45. Tai Chi in the Gardens
Tai Chi, a unique form of “moving meditation” calms the mind, relaxes the body and strengthens the spirit. These sessions at Old Westbury Gardens are taught by professional Tai Chi instructor, Linda Cafiero and are designed for all experience levels. $15 per session; $5 members. 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.
