Christopher Joseph of Levittown has been picked to play on the USA World University team for the second straight year in a row. The 2009 graduate of Macarthur High School played with the USA team last year in Italy, ultimately losing a chance at a medal. This was the first time the team had ever made the medal round.
Joseph had five points last year and led team USA in hits and blocked shots. This year, the team will be playing in Granada, Spain, with Joseph spending Jan. 29 through Feb. 15 overseas.
Standing tall at 6 feet, 1 inch, Joseph is currently a senior at Stony Brook University and captain of the hockey team. The defenseman has put up 20 points in 22 games this season so far.
The mens’ hockey games will begin airing on Feb. 5. For more information on the Winter World University game times, and to view the team roster, visit www.usahockey.com.
