Children’s Book Donation Drive
The Island Trees High School Foreign Language Honor Society is collecting new or gently used children’s books for Long Island Head Start. The program mainly works with children ages 3-5 years old, although they would also love books geared toward older children for the siblings of these children. These books are given to the children to keep, with the goal being to provide children with a literacy-rich home environment. Donations accepted until Feb. 13. Please bring all donations to the Main Office.
Senior Enrichment Group
Wednesdays from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. This month’s activities include: exercise, Bingo, ceramics, knitting, crochet, popular board games and a social hour. Board of Ed Meeting
Levittown Public Schools Board of Education will hold a budget planning meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 11 at 7:30 p.m. in the large board room at 150 Abbey Ln., Levittown.

Argentine Tango
Rhythms & Soul Dance Studio invites Argentine Tango lovers from across Long Island to take a beginner dance class or two. Classes are every Friday through Feb. 27 from 8 p.m.-midnight. Levittown Community Council’s 14th annual Winterfest will be held on Feb. 14 in Levittown Hall. Kiwanis Club Wine Tasting
Kiwanis will be sponsoring a wine tasting and pasta dinner at Levittown Hall on Feb. 15 between 3-7 p.m. Donation is $30 which includes tastings and dinner. For more information, email levittownkiwanisny@gmail.com.
Blood Drive
MacArthur High School senior Jessy Davidson will be holding a blood drive on Feb. 15 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at the John Theissen Children’s Foundation, located at 1881 Wantagh Ave., Wantagh. Appointments are available every 15 minutes from 10 a.m.-3:45 p.m. All those interested contact Jessy at mindyruns@aol.com to schedule your appointment or visit www.nybloodcenter.org. Everyone who donates a pint of blood will be put into a drawing to win VIP Islanders tickets, a tablet, an iPod and other great raffles. Eligible donors must bring a photo ID, be a minimum weight 110 lbs., eat well and drink fluids, and have no tattoos for the past 12 months. Walk-ins are welcome.
