Feb. 6 will forever be a night that Brianna Wilson will never forget. The Island Trees senior took part in “Senior Night,” a special event for those in their final year of high school. But this was not your average night.
Not only was Wilson’s girls’ varsity basketball team one win away from an undefeated conference championship, she was also on the verge of reaching the elusive 1,000 point scoring mark. Early in the first quarter, a straight away three from the top of the key would allow Wilson to surpass this prestigious milestone, becoming only the fifth player in school’s history to achieve this incredible scoring mark. The Lady Dawgs would also go on to complete their goal, finishing 12-0 in conference play.
Ever the athlete, Wilson has also been a member of the girl’s lacrosse team since eighth grade. As a four year starter, she has helped the Bulldogs improve to a formidable opponent in
Nassau County. As a freshman she earned All-Conference honors and earned All County in her sophomore and junior years. As a captain, she has shown leadership in the classroom achieving a 3.6 GPA, which contributed to her scholarship to continue her career at Molloy College.
Congratulations, Brianna, on a tremendous season and career!
