Island Trees High School students recently participated in the sixth annual “Battle of the Classes.” The high school gymnasium was booming with enthusiasm as students, in their bright neon class shirts, competed for the title.
The evening began with Jessica Carpentieri singing the National Anthem, followed by an amazing performance by the Island Trees Varsity Hip Hop Dance Team.
Students competed in volleyball, tug o’war, hula hoop relay, balloon relay, basketball free throws, scooter relay and even a whipped cream event for the class officers. During the final event, students showcased their dance moves in their class dances, which even featured some of their teacher advisors.
At the end of the night, the seniors were announced as the champions of Battle of the Classes 2015. A special thanks to the
DJ, Island Trees graduate John Hillas and the emcee for the evening, Harry Villone. The event was organized and run by the class advisors: Class of 2015, Mrs. Cohen and Mrs. Rigo; Class of 2016, Mrs. Balbo and Mrs. Sherry; Class of 2017, Mrs. Alahverdian and Mr. Haggerty and Class of 2018, Mrs. Mendez and Ms. Puleo.
