The Hempstead Harbor Aero Modelers Society (HHAMS) is hosting its annual Paintball Shootout at the North Hempstead Aerodrome on Sunday, Oct. 4, at 11 a.m.
This special event will allow participants to take aim and try to hit a flying model aircraft with a paintball gun. “It’s not as easy as it sounds, but if you think you can do it, come on down and give it a try!” said Armond Saidai, vice president of HHAMS. “Come join us for a fun day at the Aerodrome.”
Paintballs, paintball guns, food and beverages will be available. Rain date is Sunday, Oct. 11.
The North Hempstead Aerodrome is located on West Shore Road. For more details, call 516-944-3858 or visit www.hhams.org.
Initially founded by seven individuals, The Hempstead Harbor Aero Modelers Society has grown to 70 members. The beginner-friendly club wishes to share its hobby with all who are interested. Many flyers have learned basic flying and building skills from HHAMS members and have gone on to teach the next generation. HHAMS embraces all forms of aeromodeling and places emphasis on having fun, rather than on competition.
HHAMS club meetings are open to all. They take place the second Thursday of every month at 8 p.m. at the VFW Hall, 29 Mohegan Ave.
