Free Event Gives High School Athletes Exposure to Scouts And Recruiters

Parisi Speed School and NCSA Athletic Recruiting team up to record verified stats in platform trusted by coaches across the county.

With college tuition continuing to climb, opportunities for athletic scholarships are more sought after than ever. But submitting verified times and stats to college scouts, and getting noticed by recruiters, is growing increasingly competitive. That’s why NXT GEN Fitness & Performance Training in Port Washington is teaming up with NCSA Athletic Recruiting to offer Proving Ground on April 9, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.Janaa

This free event, powered by Parisi Speed School and NCSA Athletic Recruiting, enables high school athletes, typically sophomores and up, to participate in drills and build an NCSA recruiting profile online as well as help families navigate the recruiting process.

“The Proving Ground platform is one of the few college recruiting sites coaches use,” John Cirilo, director of NXT GEN Fitness & Performing Training, said. “The goal is to give athletes who want to play at the college level as much exposure as possible.”

The event offers would-be college athletes a local alternative to attending sports camps where they might be seen by collegiate coaches.

Drills include jumping, sprinting, multidirectional movement and endurance. The scores are then verified by Parisi Speed School coaches and posted on the NCSA Athletic Recruiting site. During the event, parents can attend a 30-minute seminar on college recruiting and athletic scholarships.

Athletes also receive feedback on how to improve performance, and learn about opportunities to train at Parisi Speed School, a nationwide franchise that has produced more than 150 National Football League athletes, as well as first-round draft picks in almost every major sport including Gold and Silver medalists. The Port Washington facility will host another free Proving Ground event in the coming months, giving athletes time to improve their physiological potential before they test again.

While the event is free, there is a fee to post the statistics NCSA’s site. Pre-registration is required, and available at www.provinggroundcombine-nxtgen.eventbrite.com. Athletes and their families are encouraged to arrive 30 minutes before their registered start time, with their gym shoes and workout clothes – as well as the desire to “Bring It.”
