Seawall To Be Repaired

Seawall 041818AAs of April 12, the Port Washington Water Pollution District will be temporarily restricting access to its Sunset Park property to make repairs to the rip rap sections of the seawall and pedestrian walkway. The district expects the project to be completed before the summer season begins, allowing for a safer, cleaner area. The project is funded by FEMA grants.

“This is not a comprehensive rebuild or redesign, but repairs and remediation of the issues that are known,” said Superintendent of the Port Washington Water Pollution Control District Windsor Kinney. “We were granted our permit to proceed at the end of March by NYS DEC, and that is why this push started to get moving quickly in order to get the property opened by summer.”
