The Children’s Heart Foundation hosted the large, annual Congenital Heart Walk on May 14, driving in families from all over New York to help raise funds for congenital heart defect research.
The Children’s Heart Foundation committee held the fundraising event at the beautiful Sunken Meadow State Park. The walk continues to grow year after year, making it one of their largest fundraisers to date. It included family-friendly activities, entertainment, and refreshments.
Local sponsors from all over Long Island came out to support the event, including Cohen Children’s Medical Center, A Moment of Magic Foundation, and Shinbone Photography. Families joined from all over New York to honor and remember children with congenital heart defects.
The walk kicked off at 9:30 a.m., when families strolled the boardwalk along the beautiful Long Island Sound. Families were seen smiling and having a great time all for a wonderful cause. Their hope is to one day find a cure for America’s most common and deadly birth defect.
The Children’s Heart Foundation is the country’s leading organization solely committed to funding congenital heart defect (CHD) research.
