SUNY Old Westbury Inaugurates New President, Celebrates at Meet the Leaders Luncheon
SUNY Old Westbury held a Meet the Leaders Luncheon to celebrate the inauguration of its new president, Dr. Timothy E. Sams, on April 14.
Sponsored by M&T Bank, the luncheon included a panel discussion called “How Businesses Can Partner with Higher Education Institutions for Economic Growth and Stability in the 21st Century.” Dr. Sans facilitated the discussion about developing successful partnerships between colleges and businesses.
Leaders on the panel included Roslyn Clarke Artis, president of Benedict College; Matthew Cohen, president of Long Island Association; Doon Gibbs, director of Brookhaven National Laboratory; Debby Krenek, publisher of Newsday Media Group; Jason Lipiec, Long Island Market President at M&T Bank; and Milagros “Milly” Peña, president of SUNY Purchase.
The luncheon was preceded by Dr. Sams’ installation ceremony and followed by an inauguration reception.
